We restored and reproduced for the city of Palermo several cast iron lamp posts that contribute to make their surroundings unique.

Antonio Neri
Fondazione Neri – Museo Italiano della Ghisa
The city of Palermo has preserved a vast heritage of original cast iron lamp posts. We restored the four posts in Piazza San Domenico; reproduced the 1920s posts designed by Liberty artist, Ernesto Basile; and restored and reproduced the posts surrounding the Renaissance Fountain in Piazza Pretoria.
The project is still ongoing: the last intervention in 2018 took place outside the train station and the famous botanic garden. Most of the city has now gradually returned to using this type of lamp post, from Viale Roma and Via della Libertà to Teatro Massimo and Porta Felice.
One of the most famous locations in Palermo is Piazza Pretoria, with its monumental 16th century fountain. The lamp posts that surround it are a unique model, found only here and at the Monreale Cathedral just a few kilometres from Palermo. We restored and brought them back to their former splendour.
Our Light 801 lantern lights many streets and alleys of Palermo’s historic centre, which is gradually being revived with careful architectural restorations that make it even more interesting and pleasant to experience by night.
The historic Palermo, where heritage products and restoration interventions are extensive, co-exists with the contemporary one where posts from Saiph collection have been installed with ‘Light 34’.

Preserving History: The New Light of Sulmona
Sulmona, Italy
In Sulmona, during the historic Good Friday procession, the hand-carried lanterns held by the young members of the Confraternity of the Holy Trinity have been a recognizable symbol for centuries. But behind their elegance lay a concrete issue: the risk posed by fire and glass over more than four hours of continuous use. In 2022, the Confraternity turned to Neri to find a solution that was safe — yet invisible. The result? An LED system powered by a single battery for each lantern, ensuring full autonomy and safety without altering the original appearance. The warm glow of candlelight was precisely recreated thanks to a custom LED filter; the spheres were reproduced in polyethylene using 3D printing, and the golden leaves were carefully restored to their original brilliance.
Matera, new lighting for a timeless heritage
Matera, Italy
Matera, the City of Stones, has been transformed with Neri’s SN100C LED luminaires, part of an ambitious energy upgrade by City Green Light S.r.l. in 2024. The switch from yellow sodium lamps to clear, warm LED lighting has enhanced the city’s beauty, highlighting spaces once lost in darkness and creating a more welcoming atmosphere. By day, SN100C blends seamlessly with the warm tones of Matera’s ancient stone, while by night, it illuminates the historic landscape with clarity and elegance. From the alleys to the grand cathedral, Neri’s lighting brings out the charm of this UNESCO World Heritage Site like never before.
Nebula & Lang Illuminate Loews Miami Beach Hotel
Miami, USA
At the newly inaugurated Loews Coral Gables Hotel in Miami, Nebula and Lang take center stage, shaping two distinct atmospheres. Overlooking the coastal skyline, Nebula enhances the pool area, while Lang brings elegance to the reception terrace. Two different solutions, designed by CM KLING+ASSOCIATES and realized by Neri, aimed to enhance the place and its atmosphere.
